One of Durham Region’s most majestic attractions is the Waterfront Trail. Stretching along the shore of Lake Ontario, this beautiful trail starts at the Pickering border and takes travellers through each of Durham’s waterfront communities, all the way to the edge of the Clarington border.
There is so much to see and do while taking in the picturesque scenery; you almost wish you had your own personal guide to ensure you don’t miss anything!
Now with the help of the online, interactive Map Your City (MYC) Durham Waterfront Trail lab, you can view trail access and way-finding points, read interesting stories, see pictures, access web and video links, and identify all of the amazing amenities near you.
This virtual guide is part of a pilot project that will continue to be a work in progress. Be sure to share and favourite your locations as you go, and get in touch with us by email if you have new locations to add or feedback to give!
Not one to plan ahead? A mobile app has also been created to be your travel companion while out on your trail adventure. You can download the app from the MYC website for free on your Android or iOS devices.
